P3 (d) Risk Assessment & Recce

Risk Assessment

I have to complete the risk assessment before the photoshoot for advertising campaign in order to protect the team and the equipment.

For the location for our photoshoot for the advertising campaign of Annie world tour "From Russia with love" we choose to make a photoshoot in the professional studio.
In the studio we had perfect conditions for the photoshoot such as lighting and all the equipment which we needed.
The three point lighting is a simple system of professional lighting which we used for our photoshoots.
The system is made by three lights:
Key light- this light is the main and the strongest one. It is placed to one side of the camera/subject so that this side is well lit and the other side has some shadow.
Fill light - this light is located on the opposite side of Key light. It's used to clean the shadows which are created by key light. It's usually softer than the opposite one.
Back light - The back light is placed behind the subject and lights it from the rear. Rather than providing direct lighting, its purpose is to provide definition highlights around the subject. This helps separate the subject from the background.
Below there are the examples of the photo studio:

The studio is located in Kent College in Canterbury.

For the location of our photoshoot we decided to go to Canterbury city centre to the Top Hill. It's one of the highest point in Canterbury where there is a perfect view on the whole Canterbury. It's a good place to use it as a background because we would like to make a photoshoot in a bit historical theme. As we can see on a pictures below the Canterbury Cathedral is the main attraction in the town and it's very beautiful and eye-catching therefore it will be attractive for the audience and they will be interested in our product. We need to achieve the attractive background which wouldn't attract the whole attention of the audience. We want to have all attention to the main object of the photoshoot - guitar. But at the same time the background has to give the feeling of the historical atmosphere together with the modern style model. This should look interesting for the target audience.

As a part of the contingency plan we had to change the location to Kent College later in order to have more models poses to make the photoshoot more interesting for the potential audience and to protect the equipment from the heavy wind which was in Canterbury during the photoshoot days.
Also once we did the photoshoot inside Kent College in Canterbury because it was dark outside.
